Sector: Healthcare Build: Conversion/Extension Completed: Q1, 2017 Location: Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire
The original school building was retained, reconfigured and extended to create a 72-bedroom, each with ensuite, care home. The original school halls were transformed into an internal dementia friendly street scene with working shops, café, hairdressers and a band stand. Further to this, an indoor bowling green, cinema, bar and private dining room were created to provide additional luxury to the home.
The home provides large, beautiful gardens, within two courtyards and two further sensory gardens equipped with allotments.
A full design service was provided on this project, from initial feasibility concept through to the built environment.
Initially recognised in 2017 as the Best Regeneration Project in the UK at the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards, this home has recently won in 2023 the ‘Best of the Best’ a recognition of the best designed care home in the last 25years of the awards.
“We were delighted to find out that Lindsey Hall had been recognised in such a unique and prestigious manner, when receiving the ‘Best of the Best’ award at this years 2023 Pinders Healthcare Design Awards. The project is testament to all those who worked on the design and delivery, ensuring that our vision for the home was realised. Matt played a significant part in this process, he was committed at all times through each phase of the project from the initial feasibility design and all stages of the design deliverables, to finally seeing the building complete and ready for its first resident. Matt displayed a care and dedication at all times to ensure that we received a build of the highest architectural quality”
